My interest is in online multi-objective optimal control, supplemented with data-driven approaches for efficiency and validation, without compromising on robustness and safety.
For my master thesis I considered the average time a robot following a random process needs to escape from a circle, formally called the mean exit time. Specifically, the focus was on the effect the presence of additional robots has on the escape time, and to build a model that corresponds to the experimental results. The robots were e-puck robots, programmed in C++ and communicating with Matlab via bluetooth. .
Check it outSkill relatedness between industries may be approximated by the flow of employers between them, compared to a baseline people moving on average. Using available data for Ireland, Germany and Sweden, we consider industries as nodes in a network and the relatedness as weighted edges. We compare the resulting networks on different scales.
My bachelor in mathematics considered non-smooth dynamics in a model taken from magnetic bearings of rotating axles with very high frequency. We built a more accurate and complex model than had been used in previous literature and identified new behaviour. The results were thoroughly tested to rule out modelling or numerical errors. .
